Because of that, we decided to invest in a swing set from Costco. It is a heavy duty, weather proof one with two swings and a trapeze bar.
It got delivered to our house on Thursday and the kids, especially Karina, began haranguing Daddy to put it together RIGHT AWAY!
On Friday afternoon after work, Daddy finally got started. And who was there to help? Karina, our mechanically-minded one. She started immediately asking how Daddy was going to put things together.
Karina helped pick out various pieces to put together.
And she helped screw things together. She's a natural!
As things started to come together, other kids came out to check things out.
And finally, everything was finally done! It was relatively painless to put together. There was only one mishap with Elvin losing a bolt in the grass. A trip to Home Depot to buy a replacement took care of that.
The set has two swings and a trapeze bar in the middle.
The kids enjoyed hanging from the bar. Xiao Yu can hold on for about 3 seconds only. The funny thing is that in addition to the swing, the kids like playing on the structure itself almost as much. Here is Eliana doing her best impersonation of a monkey.
And then falling off!
And Karina likes to hang from the support bar.
And so does Eliana.
So all in all, the kids have even more of an excuse to go outside!
