Berry picking!

One of the best things about living in our part of the country are the berry farms that produce luscious berries during the summer.

We went a few weeks (now a few months) back to a farm that had raspberries, blueberries, AND marionberries.  It was great that it had so much variety in one place.  (It also had strawberries, but the strawberries were all done by mid-June.)

And so we went...

We started out picking raspberries.

When the kids were younger, they ate lots of berries and then sort of lost interest.  Now that they're older, they are able to pick quite a few berries.

The raspberries were delicious.

And then we moved on to the blueberry bushes.

And then we went for the marionberries.  Marionberries are a unique strain that was developed in Oregon; it is a cross between blackberries and raspberries.

We found a heart-shaped marionberry!

Here is what they were able to pick!  (With Gabe doing his rapper stance.)

And this is what ten pounds of berries look like!
