Her preschool had a mini-graduation ceremony, which the whole family attended. Here is Karina expectantly looking on.
Gabriel is also waiting for Eliana's class to show up.
Finally, Eliana's class files out. Her teacher, Mrs. Lattanzi, announces to the class that they entered the room as pre-schoolers, but once they receive the graduation certificate that she is handing out, they automatically become kindergarteners!
Each student got their certificate one by one, and we all clapped for each kid.
Here is Eliana proudly holding her certificate.
Here she is saying goodbye to her teacher. Mrs. Lattanzi is a veteran pre-school teacher; she has been a teacher at this pre-school for 27 years! This year is actually her last year as she is retiring from teaching and has gone back to school to start a career in social services.
So...here was Eliana in her first day of school back when she was three years old.
And here she is again two years later! Karina is also with her, of course. (Karina is VERY excited about starting preschool in the fall. She has recently declared: "Hoooray, hooray! Neh yeah I doh joo pee-jool!" [Translation: "Next year I go to preschool!"] By the way, Eliana is holding her hand up in that funny position because she is trying to show off the Tinkerbell ring that she is wearing on her finger. She is also wearing her birthday crown. The three kids with summer birthdays got to celebrate their birthday on the last day of school with cupcakes.
And here is the whole family taking a picture together. We're not sure when the last time was when we were all in one picture together!
