Snippets from Eliana's week

Eliana continues to grow and change and do new and funny things. Unfortunately, some not so funny stuff comes with growing - this last weeky she started cutting her upper molars. We had a loooong night, and a very grouchy little girl for a while. She seems to have recovered now, although her teeth aren't through, yet. Here are some snippets from this last week...

Another week....

It was another normal weekend in the Yuen household and Eliana never ceases to amuse. If you can figure out what she's saying, feel free to let us know.




Most of her spoken words are in English, but she says "water" in Portuguese. After a bit of prompting, she says "agua" and also uses (her version) of the baby sign for it too. She still loves to drink plain water...

We're still having summer weather, so we took another walk to the neighborhood park. Besides going on the swing, Eliana rode down the slide.

Drinking milk...

After months of not liking the stuff, Eliana has decided that she does like cow's milk after all. She has also learned how to tilt back her sippy cup, although now she takes it to a whole new level...

As you can see from the end of the video, Eliana has started to not only notice the camera, but to "perform" for it. Today, she started "smiling" whenever she saw the light go on on the camera. Here is the result:

Eliana must be part penguin because she loves the refrigerator. The bottom drawer has her food (yogurt, cheese sticks) which she can rummage through and pick out. She, however, is interested in exploring the other parts of the fridge as well.

And sometimes the best toys are the simplest ones. We filled an empty egg carton with empty plastic eggs left over from Easter. Going through them one by one keeps her occupied for about...2 or 3 minutes.

Going to the park...

Ellie loves going outside. All day long, she points to the door, gets her shoes and Mommy's shoes, and asks to go outside. We usually go for 3 or 4 walks a day. Today, since Daddy was home, he took her for a walk, and documented it along the way...

Because Eliana is a little too young for the Oregon Zoo, we thought PetSmart would be a better choice for her (especially since it's only 3 minutes from our house.) She liked looking at the kittens, thought the guinea pig was a dog, and thought the parrot was a chicken. Here she is doing (her version) of the sign for bird.

When getting ready for church on Sunday, Mommy put barrettes in her hair, only to have her pull them off.

Eliana still takes two naps a day. But for some reason, she refuses to take them in her crib (even though she sleeps in it at night, no problem). She'll only sleep if we put her down on our bed...
