Go Brazil!!!

The World Cup in Russia has started and today Brazil played its first game, against Switzerland.

The game started at 11am on Sunday morning so Elvin drive a second car so that he could come home early from church. The kids also announced that they wanted to as well.

They got really into the game and had the idea, after seeing images of the crazy fans on TV, to paint their faces with the Brazilian flag amongst other things

And eventually they got some drums and other instruments to form their own Brazil cheering section. It got quite loud in our living room and was pretty fun.  Even thought the game ended in only a tie, it was fun to watch.

From shaggy to shorn...

Somehow, it's been over six months since Gabe has gotten a haircut.  His hair was almost completely covering his ears and it was loooong.

So with the weather warming up, it was time to take him in for a haircut.

He still insists on sitting on Daddy's lap during the operation.  And if you can't tell, he doesn't like the clippers.
Actually, he doesn't like any part of the entire process.  He's got on his "how much longer do I have to sit here" face.
And here he is looking much more civilized.  And also happy that he got a dum dum in the end.
