Strawberries!

Strawberry season is here!  The kids have been waiting a long time to go berry picking.  Occasionally, in the middle of winter, they will ask, "Can we pick raspberries?" or some other berry.

We went to the local farm about 20 minutes from our house to pick strawberries.  They were not as sweet as some years, but still very good.  Here are the girls running out to the fields--as if we were going to run out of strawberries or something!
We walked down the rows for a little while to find a good patch.
Eliana did a good job picking.  She picked about a quarter of a bucket by herself.
Karina, on the other hand, stuck close to Daddy.  She observed, commented, and basically said to Daddy, "Pick there!  I found a red one, pick that one!  Why you not pick that one?" …for about an hour straight.  She picked about 3 or 4 strawberries herself.  Otherwise, she asked Elvin to put the ones he was picking into her bucket.
In the end, after an hour, we had about twelve pounds of strawberries!
Poor Gabey had to stay home to take a nap that day.  He is actually the one that likes strawberries the most.  But there were plenty to go around and he got to eat more than his fair share.
